Our Story

From a Living Room
to a Growing Family

The Home Church began with a quiet prompting of the Lord and a vision to reach a lost and dying world, one heart at a time.

Where It All Began

A Home, A Vision,
A Faithful Handful

The Home Church started with the quiet prompting of the Lord and a vision to save a lost and dying world. On March 29, 2018, the Hilton family opened the doors of their slightly imperfect home in Friendswood, Texas to welcome a small but hungry group of worshippers.

It wasn’t fancy. The chairs didn’t always match. But the Spirit of God was present, and that was more than enough. From that living room, a church was born, not built with bricks and mortar, but with faith, love, and a whole lot of obedience.

For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them. Matthew 18:20
The Journey

Every Closed Door
Was God Opening Another

2018 - 2019

The Crossfit Gym

God opened a new door for The Home Church! We began to hear the Word and worship as a body at a Crossfit Gym. We were officially on the move for God as we set up and broke down for each service, growing in the Lord and growing as a church. The Lord was surely leading the lost to our church, and, dare I say, we were getting comfortable in our space!

We were fortunate to worship there for about a year until we were given a word from missionaries Bro and Sis Muthu, that said we would not be in that space much longer. Little did we know how quickly that prophecy would come to pass.

2019 - 2020

Clear Lake Rec Center

Just a few days later, the Lord swept the rug from beneath our feet as we received news we would need to find a new place to worship. But, God! He provided a new, larger space at the Clear Lake Rec Center, giving us room to grow. Chairs were provided, and we even had an air-conditioned space for Sunday school!

What a true blessing that space was for us as more seats filled with saints and those in need of salvation, until COVID-19 forced its shutdown.

2020 - Present

Online & Beyond

But, God! COVID-19 stopped neither His church from growing nor ours. Pastor Hilton felt led to move services online until COVID restrictions were reduced. It was a new and strange atmosphere in which to worship, but it was a wonderful blessing when, despite the distance, new faces began popping up and new relationships thrived.

What the enemy meant for shutdown, God used for growth.

“But, God!”

Time and again, when doors closed and the path seemed uncertain, those two words became the testimony of this church. God was always ahead of every obstacle, preparing something better, something bigger, something more beautiful than we could have planned ourselves.

Where We Are Today

Our Home,
Full-Time

The Home Church previously shared a facility with a church of a different faith. Today, we proudly call this location our home full-time. God has opened many doors and renovations have begun, including the addition of a full Sunday School for our kids and youth.

The Home Church family is excited to begin this new journey, and it is our hope to bring as many who will join us along for the ride as God leads. Every seat that fills is a testimony. Every life changed is a miracle in motion.

We Are Believing
for Great Miracles

Come join us for church on Sundays and Wednesdays as we lift our praises to Him and worship together as one body.

A Place to Call Our Own Believing God for a physical home where The Home Church can plant deep roots
Prodigals Led Home That every wandering soul finds their way back to the Father
The Hurt Are Mended Where wounds are healed and burdens are laid down at the feet of Jesus
The Sick Are Healed Believing in a God who still heals and performs miracles today

And most importantly, we believe for the greatest miracle of all, SALVATION for all who walk through The Home Church doors … wherever those doors may be.

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise… He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9
